Your wedding at St Matthew's

Marriage If you're planning to get married, live in St Matthew's Parish and have not been married before, you are entitled to get married here.  We would love to help you make this the most special day of your lives. Please contact the vicar for more details.

If you have been married before, please talk to the vicar. You may still be able to be married in church, but there are a number of things he will need to explore with you first.

Hand on hairIf you don't currently live in St Matthew's Parish, you may still be able to be married here. There are national guidelines about this which we will be happy to explain to you when we meet.  For example, if you used to live here and have moved away, if your parents live here or you were baptised here, you are entitled to get married at St Matthew's.

KneelingConfettiOnce the wedding is booked, we will arrange to meet with you over the months leading up to the wedding in order to discuss hymns, readings, vows, fees and everything else connected with the big day.  Just as important, though, is the chance to talk about what Christian marriage means.

After all, marriage isn't just about one day but the rest of your lives.
