New Wine Discipleship Year

New Wine's Discipleship Year is a year of discovery and adventure for 18–24 year olds. The course combines relevant biblical teaching with practical internships in local churches in and around West London. In doing the Discipleship Year you will be equipped biblically, encouraged to grow in your gifts and passions, and empowered to follow God’s call for your life. The Discipleship Year is an exciting and challenging year serving God!

What’s involved?

You will receive 8 hrs per week of training, teaching and coaching input based at the New Wine training centre at St Paul's Ealing.  You will combine this with a placement at a church in the West London area (hopefully St Matthew's!).  You will commit to working in the local church for 1, 8 hour day per week plus approximately 4 hours each Sunday.

What would I do at St Matthew’s?

We would love to offer you a placement at St Matthew’s.  We’re based on Yiewsley High Street, a challenging and increasingly multicultural London suburb just north of Heathrow.  At St Matthew’s, we are committed to developing vibrant community ministry that helps to impact Yiewsley with the light and love of Christ. 

We can offer you great opportunities to help us with our children’s work.  We share our site with St Matthew’s CE Primary School, which is an OfSTED ‘outstanding’ Church school committed, like us, to serving our local community.  We are also looking to grow and develop our Sunday children’s and youth work. 

We’d love you to help us to

• deliver our weekly, whole school worship in church in a fun and creative way
  
• build relationships in St Matthew’s School and other local primary schools and explore opportunities to develop a Christian lunch club in St Matthew’s School
  
• develop our thriving parent and toddler group, Little Monsters
  
• grow our Sunday children’s and/or youth programme

We aim to offer you accommodation which is within walking distance of St Matthew’s Church as well as being close to excellent transport links to the training hub at St Paul’s Ealing.
