Sundays at St. Matthew's - What to Expect...

Easter 2017

We are a vibrant, growing and welcoming church running two services on a Sunday morning.

9am Traditional Communion Service, held in the Lady Chapel. This in a contemplative traditional style service and always includes communion.

10.30am Sunday Celebration, held in the main Church. The 10.30am service is more informal and uses a mixture of contemporary worship songs and more traditional hymns. Sunday Celebration includes Communion every week apart from the first Sunday of each month. If you are not accustomed to receiving Communion, you are welcome to come forward for a blessing.

10.30am on the 1st Sunday of each month - All Age Worship service where children and adults worship together in a short, vibrant service (the staffed Creche is available).

We would love to welcome you to one of these services. Please feel free to come 'as you are' - we do not have a dress code!  If you visit us on a Sunday, please fill in one of our Welcome Cards so that we are able to invite you to one of our regular welcome lunches.

Tea and coffee is served after the 10.30am meeting. Please stay and join us if you can.

Children and Young People

We are a growing church which includes many families with children of all ages. We provide a staffed Creche for pre-school age children, so parents are able to attend the main service. During term time, we have two children's groups that run during the service for children of primary school age (up to age 11) - Splash for Key Stage 1 children and Waves for Key Stage 2 children. These groups are held in the hall. On the third Sunday of the month our Youth Group, Ignite, meets separately during the service to explore issues of faith. Our Youth Group also meets fortnightly on Friday evenings in the hall. Please see the church calendar for details.
